In a bold and minimal colour palette, dreamy woodcut-prints feature humanoid characters set amongst far-flung landscapes. A giant dreaming lady makes love to the land whilst a headless figure holds a man and woman on either side and as blood squirts out his neck, he urges them to drink from his fountain. The sun shines radiant beams, the lion smiles and a nude man dances with two fish. Three severed heads are exhibited in bowls and a wind spirit whispers carpe noctem (seize the night). Ancient cultures, forgotten rituals and therianthropic copulation are looked over by ancestral spirits; complemented by totemic iconography and scrawled (to be read between the lines) is Temet nosce the Ancient Greek aphorism Know thyself and one of the Delphic maxims that has had a variety of meanings attributed to it in literature. Inspired in-part by Paul Gauguins painting Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?. A question that we can never truly answer and a conundrum thats always fun to ponder.
